Kate Austin-Avon

Kate Austin-Avon is an artist in Glens Falls, New York. She has been showing her work since 2006.

She owns and operates Advokate, a holistic marketing, design and communications firm that helps artists and small businesses with their promotion efforts through web design, social media, graphic design, logos and branding, marketing consultation, videography, PR, email marketing and more. She designed this website! An initial consultation is just $25.

She is also a mixed media artist. Her work ranges from expressive autobiographical pieces to playful abstracts. The abstracts come together like a Rorschach test of what looks right where, rather than a preconceived concept. Some of her favorite media includes kosher salt, inks, watercolor, rubbing alcohol, Windex, cheesecloth, plastic wrap, her own hair, crayons, gesso, and found objects. She also makes upcycled “trashion” jewelry from bits of garbage.
